Human Development and Family Studies (HD FS) at Penn
State York is a widely varied major.
It offers a wide array of options for studies, including
specializations in the areas of early childhood care, family studies,
and aging services.
Our courses emphasize biological, psychological, social/cultural, and economic aspects of
development, as well as applied skills in intervention
and evaluation, prevention, and in the
formulation of social policy. An approved internship in a setting that serves children, youth, adults, or the
aged is required for this degree program.
Through course work, undergraduate internships or research projects,
you will develop skills relevant to your career objectives, such as counseling, human assessment,
program planning and evaluation, and research.
