Human Development and Family Studies (HD FS) at Penn State York is a widely varied major.

It offers a wide array of options for studies, including specializations in the areas of early childhood care, family studies, and aging services.
Our courses emphasize biological, psychological, social/cultural, and economic aspects of development, as well as applied skills in intervention
and evaluation, prevention, and in the formulation of social policy. An approved internship in a setting that serves children, youth, adults, or the aged is required for this degree program.

Through course work, undergraduate internships or research projects, you will develop skills relevant to your career objectives, such as counseling, human assessment, program planning and evaluation, and research.
