Day 1
Wednesday, December 29 - Departure |
Depart from Baltimore airport at 10:10 a.m. to go
to Guatemala City via Atlanta with Delta Airlines. Arrival 8:23
p.m. Meet your escort who will be with you throughout the tour.
Transfer to Hotel Marriott.

Day 2 Thursday, December 30 - Antigua |
Morning panoramic tour of Guatemala City. It includes downtown
Historic Centre, the National Palace, the Cathedral and some
residental areas. Continuation to Antigua for an afternoon walking
tour: besides the architecture and nice houses of the Colonial
City the visit includes : Merced Church, Cathedral, San Francisco
Church, the Textile Museum "El Traje Antiguo", Capuchins Convent,
the Jade factory and the Jesuits Convent.

| Day 3 Friday, December 31 - Antigua |
Excursion to Jocotenango where the Cultural Center "La Azotea"
is located. There, you will visit the organic coffee plantation,
the Coffee Museum and the K'Ojom Museum, which is the indian
music museum. You will also see some more of the sights of Antigua.
We'll be celebrating New Year's Eve in colonial Antigua.

| Day 4 Saturday, January 1 - Antigua |
Excursion to the Indian Village of San Antionio
de Aguas Calientes famous for its Indian women who use the pre-hispanic
techniques of weaving. Drive to Ciudad Vieja and see the first
Cathedral built in Central America in 1527. From there you can
take a 3 mile walk on a dirt road, through coffee plantations,
to picturesque Indian villages: San Miguel Escobar, San Pedro Las
Huertas and San Juan Obispo where the first Bishop of Guatemala
built his Palace and lived. This exciting experience will allow
close contact with local people and their daily way of life. At
the end, the bus will be in San Juan del Obispo to take you back
to Antigua.

| Day 5 Sunday, January 2 - Lake Atitlan |
Departure by the scenic Pan American Highway to
go to Chichicastenango where on Sundays and Thursdays the local
Indian population celebrate their outdoor market. You will also
visit Saint Tomas Church where the local shamans perform ceremonies
and worship the ancient gods inside the Catholic temple. Afternoon
drive to Lake Atitlan.

| Day 6 Monday, January 3 - Guatemala City |
Departure by boat to go and visit the Indian Village
named Santiago Atitlan. Visit the Church, the brotherhood of Maximon
who is a local Saint worshiped by the Tzutuhil Indians. Enjoy the
beautiful handicrafts made by the locals, especially oil paintings
made by local artists. Afternoon drive to Guatemala City.

| Day 7 Tuesday, January 4 - Guatemala City |
Full day at leisure with the possibility to take
an optional tour to the National Park of
Tikal, in Flores, declared
Heritage of Humankind by the Unesco. In Tikal, admire the plazas,
complexes and tall temples, the main Acropolis and the Lost World.
Surrounded by lush tropical forest it is also the place of nesting
for hundreds of birds and exotic wildlife. Round trip airfare is
included.

| Day 8 Wednesday, January 5 - Return |
Morning transfer to the airport to take your Delta
Airline filght which leaves at 9:35 a.m. and arrives at Baltimore
at 5:35 p.m. via Atlanta.

3 credits, GH, GI, and "other cultures" course.

The price for the Guatemala New Year's 2005 trip
will be $1195.00.
There is a possibility that students may
receive some financial funding from the Student Activity Fee
(SAF). Updates on SAF funding will be posted when made
available.
The Price Includes:
- Delta Airlines flights from Baltimore to Guatemala City,
via Atlanta
- Airport taxes @ approximately $95.00

Terms and Conditions
|
Celestial Voyagers' terms depend on contracts with Delta Airlines,
hotels and other suppliers. Regulations below must be strictly enforced as they are related to these contracts.
Deposit: $350.00 due prior to September 24, 2004. Final payment due November 5, 2004 at latest.
Late fee: $100 +, applicable for registration and/or balance payments received November 6, 2004 or later.
All cancellations must be received in writing.
Following penalties will apply:
- $150.00 non refundable processing fee
- $350.00 max. for cancellations between Sept. 25 - Nov. 5
- 50% of total price for cancellations on Nov. 6 - Nov 26
- 100% of total price for cancellations on Nov. 27 or later
All cancellations must be sent in writing. We strongly recommend that you avail yourself with travel insurance
as a protection against these penalties. Please, check with Celestial Voyagers for travel insurance plans and premiums.
