What is Project Connections Academy?
Project Connections Academy began in the fall of 1996 as a partnership between Penn State York, The School District of the City of York and the Hostetter Group, project managers. The Academy complements and enriches the full time academics of Project Connections, a program that introduces students to the real world of work through a unique curriculum that encourages the mastery and application of authentic skills.
Academy students come to Penn State York for Saturday classes during the academic year and an intensive summer program. The goal of the Academy is to structure aggressive initiatives to enhance students' math, technology, science and communication skills in addition to expanding their decision-making, critical thinking and life skills. Innovative, hands-on learning opportunities inspire enthusiasm for learning while introducing students to advanced concepts in areas such as computer technology, earth and space science, chemistry, biology and physics.
