The 2007-2008 season holds lots of promise as a strong recruiting class looks to strengthen the Penn State York Lions men’s team. The team returns two players from last year’s squad, both strong guard/forwards, Matt Frey (York Suburban) and Cliff Johnson (Bread and Roses).
This years’ freshman are skilled and ready to contribute, Josh Czerski (Towson Catholic) team captain, looks to run the offense and key the defense, Kristian Shive (York County) is a quick player who is very hard to defend. The big men who look to improve Penn State York’s record are Eric Hudak (Monesen), Nick Huso (NJ), Angelo Kellum (Central), and DeNario Thompson (Dulaney, MD) all who play post and look to control the boards. The team is rounded out by some very gifted guards, Terrell McDonald (Lawton, OK), Russell Englebert (Bermudian Springs), and Justin Zachary (Dover), all seasoned players who will improve the team quickness and chemistry.
The team is anxious to start the season and make their mark on the PSUAC conference. Our schedule is loaded with talented teams, in addition to our tough conference games we will be playing: Valley Forge Christian College, Lancaster Bible Conference, Elizabethtown College JV, Stevens College, Hood College and Division II powerhouse Shepherds College.
