It's a new look for the 2010 edition of the Penn State York women's volleyball program. First-year coach Bill Hahn, takes over the helm for the Lady Lions. Coach Hahn brings with him twenty years of volleyball experience including fourteen years as a coach.

Erin Murphy (No. 5) anchors the trio of returners. Murphy guided York as their setter last season, but returns to her more comfortable position as defensive specialist. She will also appear as the team's libero during the 2010 campaign. Lauren Kline (No. 6) and Sabryna Holmberg (No. 12) return for the Lady Lions as right-side players.

A couple of faces from the past re-emerge for Penn State York in 2010. Lindsay Mumma (No. 11) returns after a full year away from Penn State York where she previously recorded All-Conference honors as an outside hitter. Mumma will resume her spot as primary outside hitter for the 2010 season. Ann Shaw (No. 3) also returns for the Lady Lions. Shaw will play opposite Mumma as outside hitter and brings grit, dedication, and determination to the group. Her persistence to not let a ball drop to the floor without effort is unmatched.

Among the familiar faces are several newcomers to the program. Tessa Berger (No. 7) anchors the front row as the team's primary middle hitter. Berger has proven that she will be a force in the front row as she expects to lead the team in block kills.

Katie Claycomb (No. 8) replaces Erin Murphy as the program's setter this season. Claycomb brings raw potential to the program as a setter and mixes in well with the team's personality. Running a 5/1 offense will be an adjustment from the norm for Claycomb who ran a more typical international 4/2 offense for her high school program.

Hannah Kuhn (No. 9) will be a solid addition for the York program. Kuhn, who rounds out at 6' tall, brings loads of basketball experience with her and is retraining herself as a volleyball player from her sophomore year in high school. Her athleticism and positive outlook is infectious and has thus far proven valuable to the Lady Lion program.

The final newcomer, Sydney Bondar (No. 10), brings with her a positive outlook and a complete team mentality. Her support of her teammates on and off the court is quite welcomed.

The 2010 campaign for the York Lady Lions will be challenging. Having only a handful of players with prior high school experience will prove testing against some of the conferences better programs. Hard work, dedication, and team discipline will prove valuable for the Lady Lions as they set their sights on a return trip to the Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) playoffs — the primary team goal for the 2010 season.
