2011-12 Women's Basketball

Entering the 2012 portion of the 2011-12 season, the Penn State York Lady Lions will take the court with one theme: new coaches, new players, and a new optimism.
Kathy Little, first-year head coach, welcomed five first-year players to the roster as the season began along with Terri Van Slyke, assistant coach, who works in the York admissions department as a counselor. The additional players to the roster have given the team much needed depth; one of the coaching staff’s goals heading into the season. Led by Amanda Ball, a junior and team captain; Katie Claycomb, sophomore; and Courtney Riggs, Shakayla Mitchell, and Taylor Kahn, freshmen; the Lady Lions currently have a record of 3-5 with a 2-1 conference record.
The second semester will bring even more new faces as freshmen Lauren Riggelman and Paitten Yanover are added to the roster. The optimistic Lady Lions welcome these two talented players and look to surpass last year’s win total. Come see the Lady Lions in action in 2012 as they have seven home games in the months of January and February.
