At Penn State York, Orientation has three steps:

Step I: Admissions Process - Students meet with the admissions staff and a variety of programs are held to help students and their families become more familiar with the campus experience in and out of the classroom. These programs happen in the fall and spring semesters.

Step II: The First-Year Counseling an Advising Program (FCAP) - Students and their families are introduced to the rigors of academic life including placement testing, discussing course options and scheduling classes. The FCAP day is scheduled during the summer and includes meetings with academic advisers.

Step III: New Student Orientation Program - New students meet in small groups during the summer and interact with current students, faculty, and staff with the goal of making the transition to college life easier. The day-long program includes 100 new students getting to know each other, the campus community and what is expected as a student at Penn State York. The day of your orientation is determined by the date you attend the First-Year Counseling and Advising Program. New Student Orientation is for students only.
