Every year, my father gave instructions on how he wanted us to plant the garden. Then, he left for work, and we started start the job. Mom relayed instructions on to us as needed. At the end of the day, being very tired and dirty but also proud of our work, we waited for daddy to come home and praise us. But when he got home, he ranted and raved about how we didn't do anything right. The tomatoes should be beside the corn, and the cabbage and lettuce should be together, and so on. After a couple of years defending us kids and herself, Mom asked Dad to make a diagram of how he wanted everything planted. We worked hard all day long sweating in the hot sun. Upon Dad's arrival home, he started ranting and raving again about how we didn't do it right. Mom got the diagram and showed it to him. He proceeded to turn the paper around and tell us we were looking at it upside down. You see, Dad was always right.--LJL
