How I'll Recognize Her.
The soft of smoke,
the soul of candles,
the sex of matches.
I'll stare at her fingers.
skin, delicately curled fingers
The soft of faded Levi's,
the soul of frayed shoelaces,
the sex of buttons undone.
I'll stare at her neck.
petal flesh under clean white cotton
and black cord band under
gentle cactus green sweater
The soft of moon over icy clouds,
the soul of sunlight on tan carpet,
the sex of stars streaming through sunsets.
I stare at her mouth.
darkened lips absorb cigarettes and round glass and words
The soft of rain,
the soul of dew,
the sex of thunderstorm rain on pavement.
I'll stare at her eyes.
coal flecks surrounded by light hues of hazel
and powdery open whites
The soft of sidewalks under snow,
the soul of empty train tracks,
the sex of airplane wing tips over oceans.
I'll stare at her legs.
silk footsteps in black leather and denim
on hard brick floors
The soft of sea worn stone,
the soul of rain tired brick,
the sex of carved marble or granite.
I'll stare at her arms.
soothing motions of limbs in air fragile warmth.
These are all of the movements of my dreams
and that's how I'll recognized her.
