The Communication Arts and Sciences Major

Students who are interested in looking at people's communicative interactions in a variety of situations would select this option. Courses for our majors introduce students to basic concepts in CAS inquiry. In addition, the student is provided with a range of other courses that allow the development of a program of study that is best suited to the needs of the individual. The major consists of 27 credits of required and elective course work.  To view the check sheet on line, visit http://www.yk.psu.edu/~jss/CAS/checksheetmajor.html

The Communication Arts and Sciences major is highly flexible and can be readily combined with a minor in many other fields of study. Some of the most common are: Sociology, Political Science, Psychology, Women's Studies, African American Studies, Business Administration, and Education. (In fact, the department currently cross-lists some courses with Women's Studies and African American Studies.) Many other pairings are possible and encouraged.

In the Commonwealth College the major is available at the Delaware County Campus and the York Campus.
