I have played the flute for over fifty years. As an undergraduate I was principal flutist of the
M.I.T. Symphony, with which I appeared as soloist in a performance of the flute concerto of Carl Nielsen.
From 1975-80 I was principal
flutist of the York (Pa.) Symphony, and in 1984 I performed the Prokofiev sonata
and excerpts from Claude Bolling's Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano in
a joint
recital with my wife at the Institute for Advanced Study,
Princeton.
I have also
performed in woodwind quintets and flute ensembles on
various occasions
