Tropical Rivers to Reef Program
Belize, Central America Take advantage of this fabulous opportunity
to complete one of three spring semester Biology courses (BIOL 297,
BIOL 220W, or BIOL 497) while nestled in the tropical rain
forest and snorkeling the barrier reef of Belize. This is also
an awesome multicultural experience; we will take time to interface with
peoples and cultures of Creole, Garifuna, Mestizo, and Maya communities. Click for full details and

education adventure begins with1.5 days of acclimation on the
Belizean savanna
and paddling the Sibun River before heading into the mountain rain
forest of the Cockscomb Basin for 3 days of jungle learning in a jaguar
reserve. (If that doesn't "get your Lion on", then what will?)
Next we cruise out to snorkel the coral reef and mangrove lagoons for 3
days while staying on Tobacco Caye - unforgettable! Projected
cost: $1,700. $700 deposit due Dec. 12, 2007. Post-trip grant reimbursements and
final airfare pricing may reduce the cost by as much as $700. Last
year, the final cost to York students was $950.
One may also apply for the competitive
Pennsylvania
Commonwealth Education Abroad Scholarship, which if awarded, will reduce
the cost by an additional $500; apply now!
