At 5:00 p.m. on November 16, 2007, students from Penn State York convened in at the Culinary Arts Center Restaurant to participate in the sixth annual Professional Dining Etiquette Program.

Dina Wulinsky, Penn State York Career Counselor, conducted the Dress for Success session. Dina discussed professional attire for a job interview, organized the fashion show and was the master of ceremonies for the fashion show.


Business Dining Etiquette

Lynne Briel, President, The Professional Edge, Inc. and Certified Business Etiquette Trainer, conducted the hands-on Business Dining Etiquette session.

Topics included:

  • knowing the difference between business and social dining
  • handling difficult to eat foods
  • refusing or accepting foods you don’t like
  • using napkins properly
  • maneuvering around utensils, china, glassware
  • knowing the difference between American and European dining styles
  • communicating with servers
